The cordless nailer gun is a recent development. Some of these work just like the other cordless tools available these days. The battery pack provides the power for an electric motor, which operates the tool. However, in order to get additional driving force in a cordless nailer gun, another type uses a battery to provide the electrical power to ignite the gas in a small replaceable cannister. The resulting small explosion (sounds scary, but remember that your car’s engine is powered by repeated explosions in the combustion chambers) provides the force to drive a piston through a cylinder and eject the nail from the gun.
